WE were absolutely delighted and fully supported the minister’s call of “Let’s Do This Together” to accelerate the vaccination drive for the people.
We wish to reiterate that in April, we mooted the concept of shopping malls hosting as vaccination centres for the retail industry. We subsequently had preliminary discussions with the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force on May 6, and with the minister on May 21, which led to the precise and spot-on decision to implement the Public-Private Venture (PPV) for our industry with the vaccination centre programme under the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry. ....

Higher Education Ministry to identify public universities, teaching hospitals to be vaccination centres

PETALING JAYA: The Higher Education Ministry has formed a special team to identify public universities (IPTA) and university teaching hospitals that have the potential to be vaccination centres (PPV).
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the suggestion for turning some higher education institutions (HEI) as PPV is meant to assist the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme by providing more points for citizens to be vaccinated.
“The team will be led by Higher Education director-general Datuk Dr Husaini Omar, and assisted by Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia director Prof Datuk Dr Razman Jarmin, and Universiti Malaya Medical Centre director Prof Dr Nazirah Hasnan. ....
