“It’s been one year since violence erupted on May 3 last year and the situation remains dire for families residing in camps”, the Governor said, adding that there is urgency for concrete actions to alleviate their suffering and ensure a secure family.
The Manipur government has announced that all schools and colleges in the state will remain closed till Tuesday due to prevailing bad weather conditions, an official said on Monday.
Due to intense rain and hailstorms in Manipur, all educational institutions will remain closed on May 6th and 7th, 2024. Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced the closure as a precautionary measure against the risks posed by the weather. Heavy rain and hailstorms have caused damage to houses and vehicles in various parts of the state, including Canchipur and Tera in Imphal West. The government is taking necessary measures to protect lives, properties, and assist those affected.
