Manipur forms committee to probe unauthorized NOCs for CBSE affiliation

Following the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) revoking affiliation for 25 schools in Manipur due to unauthorized issuance of no objection certificates (NOCs), the state government has formed a three-member panel. The committee aims to identify officials responsible for NOC issuance, determine if signatures were forged, and recommend appropriate actions.

cbse: CBSE pull out its affiliation from 25 schools in Manipur

Joint Secretary Education (School), Manipur Anjali Chongtham on Tuesday said that the CBSE has withdrawn the affiliation, which was recently granted to the 25 schools on the ground that the NOC (No Objection Certificate) submitted by these schools has not been issued by the authorised functionaries of the state government and for cancellation of affiliation as requested by the state government by its letter on December 15.

Manipur schools to reopen on Friday after 9-day closure

On September 26 and 27, there were massive students agitations in Imphal against the killing of 17-year-old girl student Hijam Linthoingambi and 20-year-old Phijam Hemjit on July 6. The photographs of the two slain students were circulated on different social media platforms on September 25 triggering the intense agitations in which at least 100 students, including girls, were injured after they clashed with the security forces, who prevented them from marching towards the Chief.

The government has asked Manipur Schools to reopen for class 6 to 8 students from March 8, 2021. Schools will reopen with proper COVID 19 guidelines issued by state and central government.

Manipur schools to reopen from March 8, 2021 for class 6 to 8 students. The state government has given a positive node to reopen the schools for class 6 to 8 with proper COVID 19 guidelines. The school administration must follow the guidelines without fail.
One of the State Education Department officials had announced the reopening of Manipur schools on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
Earlier, the government has approved Manipur schools' reopening for class 9 to 12 students from January 27, 2021.

The Manipur government has decided that schools and colleges in the state will reopen from January 27, an official said. The state Cabinet meeting on Friday chaired by Chief Minister N Biren Singh decided that schools will reopen for students of Class 9 to 12, the official said.
It also decided that all colleges will also reopen from January 27 by strictly following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of COVID-19, a release issued by the Information and Public Relations department said.
