IRFC CBI case: CBI files chargesheet against ex-IRFC chairman Amitabha Banerjee

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against former Indian Rail Finance Corporation (IRFC) chairman and managing director Amitabha Banerjee for alleged irregularities in the purchase of gift items at exorbitant prices. The CBI submitted its findings to a special court after nearly three months of probe. Banerjee was sacked last year over alleged financial misconduct and misuse of position.

The CBI has filed an FIR against the former chairman and managing director of Indian Rail Finance Corporation (IRFC), Amitabha Banerjee, for alleged irregularities in the purchase of expensive gifts such as gold coins for distribution. Mumbai: The public offer of the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) was subscribed 1.22 times on Tuesday, the second day of the bidding.
The IPO has received bids for 152.6 crore equity shares against an offer size of over 124.75 crore equity shares (excluding anchor book portion), the subscription data available on the exchanges showed.
The portion set aside for retail investors witnessed subscriptions of 2.33 times and that of employees 27.40 times, while the reserved portion of non-institutional investors was subscribed 24.3 percent and that of qualified institutional buyers 0.16 percent.

The initial public offerings (IPOs) of two companies, Indian Rail Finance Corporation (IRFC) and Indigo Paints, will open for subscription in the week ahead to raise Rs 5,800 crore. 
The larger Rs 4,600-crore IRFC issue will hit the market on Monday. This will be the first public offer of shares by a government-owned non-banking financial company. Also the first public issue of the calendar year 2021, IRFC IPO will close on January 20.
