What a difference a year makes - Winchester's ice rink now and then
IT HAS only being going about 15 years but the Winchester Cathedral ice rink has already become a city institution. Generations of children have taken their first tentative ice skating steps in the rink that has been in place every November and December until this year. The cathedral cancelled the rink and the Christmas market in the autumn. These photos show how quiet the Inner Close looks this winter in the absence of the ice and the chalets.
