The University Grants Commission says that the decision to direct universities for uploading information is taken to avoid inconveniences to students.

UGC has prepared a list of information that should be uploaded on the website of the universities to ensure transparency. Information that has to be made public are college fees, hostel amenities, scholarship details and accreditation. Check details

Dr SM Jayakar, the Vice-Chancellor of BU, stated, “We came across this issue while scanning the exam answer scripts. We have lodged a police complaint against a few contract workers allegedly involved and intend to conduct further investigation.” The modus operandi involved deliberately leaving 41 answer scripts blank during the exam.

As per the revised guidelines, it is now compulsory for HEIs to identify and prioritise the sources of funding for the development of financial infrastructure such as government grants

Private sector partnerships for raising funds, ranking system for faculty members and the creation of "emotional infrastructure" are part of the updated UGC draft guidelines for the development of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the country.
