This country that are sold off for money, tax favors, subsidy favors, all the things that happen in washington, d.c., one set of rules for those purchasing them in washington as a business and another set for those who either can t purchase those rules or don t know how. the institutionalization of two sets of rules as our base government system affects our tax code, our subsidies, the nature of our health care system, our educational system, the development of our careers, the culture of investment, the list goes on. it is that most basic unfairness, which unites not only groups like tea partiers and occupiers, but the millions of americans that are currently responding in their own way to the realizization and the need to address this problem. joining us now is mark meckler. he s one of the founders of the ....

I i i really shouldn t even joke about it because there is nothing more important for this country today than not just understanding what you re doing but understanding the methodology of what you re doing and how directly applicable it is to every budget debate in this country, every municipal budget, every state budget, every federal budget, health care plan, military system, reform, et cetera, et cetera. do you see anything of this type of decision making, identifying the problem and focusing on it does not create value? in my world of crime and in the ones i know about the most, education, municipal policy, all those sorts of things, when you go about things this way, more often than not you win. david, it is a pleasure and congratulations. thank you very much. on coming so far with this that you now are not a novelty, that you re now on the road to i hope institutionalization. anything i can do to help do you that i will. david kennedy. thank you. ....

i m erin burnett, outfront tonight,a major concession the president and leading democrats will drop a surtax on millionaires as the way to pay for the payroll tax cut extension. this is a huge step in breaking the impasse that threatened the tax cut and may have shut the government down again. here is the bottom line. the ds and rs each fought for one big thing this payroll tax battle and that is a nonstarter for the other side. the surtax for the democrats and the keystone pipeline for the republicans. now whether you love or hate either one of those ideas, the fact was this, both were deal breakers. we ve been saying this all week. and compromise really isn t that hard. here s the decent proposal we ve been putting out there as an example. extend the tax cut for those makes less than $75,000. that costs about $48 billion. but you can pay for it by charging more to mortgage lenders and more to millionaires for medicare. it actually comes out even. and there s a lot of ....
