While NTPC is extending a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the immediate family of the contract labourers of the agency engaged in construction of the project, the Uttarakhand and Central governments have separately announced compensation package of Rs 4 lakh and Rs 2 lakh, respectively. Uttarakhand Glacier Burst: 6 Bodies Recovered From Tapovan Tunnel, 7 From Raini Village; Toll Now 51 A week after the glacier burst in Uttarakhand triggered massive flash floods, officials recovered six more bodies from the Tapovan tunnel on Sunday, where rescue operations are still underway. In all, 51 bodies have been recovered so far. Of these, only 24 have been identified, the police said.
