LAOAG CITY- The Ilocos Norte government is introducing two new scholarship grants next school year as the Provincial Education Office (PEO) will soon start accepting student-applicants for law as well as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand. In the 2023 proposed budget, Carolyn Juan Agcaoili, education research assistant of the PEO, said Thursday that a total of PHP2.8 million has been allotted for eight Juris doctor scholars per year level. The Juris doctor scholarship grant aims to assist those interested to take up law and help in the resolution of voluminous pending cases in court. "A separate amount will also be allotted for the STEM strand scholars but the specific mechanics are still being finalized," she said.
