It's the First Day of Meteorological Summer and the First Day of Hurricane Season. Hurricane Season runs from June 1st through November 30th.
Another round of thunderstorms is possible late today. While storms will be fewer and less intense, some still may produce severe weather in the South Plains area late Wednesday.
Calmer and milder weather for the remainder of the week. Temperatures will cool to the 70s by Thursday. Humidity and rain chances will remain on the low side.
Conditions favor the development of severe storms in the KCBD/FOX34 viewing area this afternoon. While not everyone will experience severe weather, some may see very large destructive hail and wind gusts.
