Akron Council sets election to replace Ward 1 Councilman Rich Swirsky
The clerk of council in Akron is accepting applications to replace Councilman Rich Swirsky, who died May 26 after battling acute myeloid leukemia for six months. By the end of June, Council President Margo Sommerville and Vice President Jeff Fusco expect council to appoint an applicant who lives in Ward 1 to serve until the end of 2022.
