Despite all efforts, the transport sector in Germany, Europe and worldwide has so far made practically no contribution to climate protection. Both higher power-to-weight ratios of the vehicle fleet and an increase in road-based freight transport have more than compensated for technological efficiency gains and greenhouse gas savings.
