The debris fell on I-85 south, near I-485 at Exit 30, according to NCDOT.
Officials first reported the crash just after 8:30 p.m. on February 10 in the 2500 block of US-321 (North Chester Street). This is near Rankin Lake Park and north of Interstate 85.
NCDOT crews will be there until 8:45 p.m. Thursday, and resume at 12:50 p.m. Friday.
All southbound lanes of I-85 near NC 62 were closed for about two hours during the investigation.
