Silva : Presidential Commission dismisses a seven-judge ruling
The Presidential
Commission to Investigate incidents of Political Revenge has recommended to
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa that former parliamentarian Duminda Silva, who was
sentenced to death in connection with the assassination of former
parliamentarian Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, should have been acquitted and
released.
The Commission
decided that Duminda Silva should have been acquitted of all charges in the
indictment filed against him in the Colombo High Court, the report said. The
three-member Presidential Commission, chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge
Upali Abeyratne, was appointed by the President on January 9, 2020. Retired ....

Colombo (News 1st); The Finals reports of 02 Presidential Commissions of Inquiry were handed over to speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena at the Parliamentary Complex on Friday (05).
Director-General of the Legal Affairs of the Presidential Secretariat Hariguptha Rohanadheera presented the reports to the speaker, said the Communications Department of the Sri Lankan Parliament.
One is the Final Report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Political Victimization which was tasked with inquiring into political victimization and associated background in the wake of investigations conducted by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, FCID, CID, and the Special Investigation Unit of the Police from January 8, 2015, to November 16, 2019. ....

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Police’s Crime Unit has launched an investigation against a wedding organizer for promoting underage marriages, based on a report submitted by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).
The issue regarding the wedding organizer, the KPAI has now made a report to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, head of the Public Information Bureau of the Indonesian National Police s Public Relations Division, Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said in Jakarta on Wednesday. ....
