It s such a remarkable thing that the priest who was there at the time, eli, even remarks on it and assumes that there must be something wrong with hannah. he thought maybe she was sort of crazy or drunken, and she said, oh, no, please understand. i m just sharing my deepest needs before god. and he told her to go and be blessed. she didn t even tell him what it was about. soon after hannah s plea, her faithfulness was rewarded and she became pregnant with a son, samuel. so she weeps bitter tears before the lord. and the irony of it is that hannah means favor or grace in hebrew, and god showed her both. she prayed that if the lord bless her with the son, she would give him right back for service in the kingdom. samuel did become the prophet who then recognized king david through we have the lineage of christ through him. so, hannah, a very quiet, common woman who was actually going through a lot of persecution, ....
