How crazy is that and what is the political impact of it more importantly? the political impact is to remind the american people that democrats have been working for years to end our dependence on foreign oil, to create good alternatives to the price of oil and we have been stymied every step of the way by republican intransigence, not just intransigence, but by republicans who consistently side with oil companies and turn their backs on working families who are trying to pay to transport themselves to work. just in the past couple of weeks, andrea, we had a bill that would have said ask the top five richest oil companies in the country to forgo just this year s portion of their tax subsidy. democrats voted for it. every single republican voted against it. the next time americans have to pay those high and unfair gas prices, i hope they will remember who stood with them and who stood with the oil companies. isn t the bottom line that incumbents tend to get blamed ....
