Malware that is sent usually via email. it's sent out to a workforce, say a state or local government. and when they click on it encrypts or destroys, prevents access to the data on that system, unless you pay a ransom to usually whoever the hackers are. typically, it's via digital currency like bitcoin. if you pay that ransom, they will decrypt that information. but sometimes you pay the ransom and they don't decrypt it anyway. it has crippled many state and local governments. they have many vulnerabilities, and in the case of these voter dead rolls, you're looking at agencies that are going ...
