A dopamine rush like a drug. and for other people, it was a sense of community. there was a lot of isolation, a lot of people staying at home and not having a connection. and suddenly here were these people who presented themselves online, which is this consistent force of kind of control, manipulation, even to the point of it feeling kind of intimate, like in the middle of the night, in the darkness of your bedroom. they were there for you. this made a lot of sense to me. to try to figure out why people believe in this conspiracy theory, i've been in touch with a lot of different qanon follow...
