DHAKA, April 10, 2021 (BSS) – Former president of Jatiya Press Club and executive editor of the daily Ittefaq Hasan Shahriar passed away at the age of 74 while undergoing treatment at a city hospital today.
The veteran journalist breathed his last at Impulse Hospital at around 12 noon, immediate past president of JPC Saiful Alam told BSS.
Shahriar, also a two-term president of Commonwealth Journalists’ Association (CJA), was admitted to the hospital at around 1:30 am on Friday with symptoms of coronavirus.
Later, he tested positive for the virus.
His namaj-e-janaza will be held on the premises of the Jatiya Press Club after Asr prayers today, he added. ....
