A lot of your Dodgers teammates did. The 2018 AL MVP — who is among the favorites for the NL award this season — capped his return to Boston with a second straight three-hit game, connecting for a two-run homer to spark Los Angeles to a 7-4 victory over his former team on Sunday. “Obviously, the emotions were there,” said Betts, who won a World Series with the Red Sox in 2018 and another in Los Angeles after he was traded there that spring in a salary dump.

Mookie Betts didn't arrive at Fenway Park with any expectations. Freddie Freeman had four hits, including a tie-breaking double, Betts doubled and scored two runs in his return to Boston and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Red Sox 7-4 on Friday night. Betts, back on the field in Boston for the first time since he was traded by the Red Sox in 2020, was given a standing ovation prior to his first at-bat and went 1 for 4 against the franchise where he spent his first six major league seasons.

Mookie Betts hit a two-run single in Los Angeles' three-run eighth inning, and the Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins 3-1 on Saturday in the opener of a split-doubleheader. The NL West-leading Dodgers bounced back nicely from an 11-3 loss on Friday night, improving to 16-2 in August. Ryan Yarbrough (6-5) pitched two perfect innings for the win, and Evan Phillips got three outs for his 19th save.

The Dodgers have won 12 of 13 games this month to build a commanding lead in their division. Clayton Kershaw's return has helped settle the rotation.

Will Smith, James Outman and Amed Rosario homered and Tony Gonsolin worked six solid innings after allowing a home run on his first pitch as the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 4-1 on Saturday night. The Dodgers extended their winning streak to seven games and won for the 11th time in 12 games. Colorado’s Ezequiel Tovar hit Gonsolin’s first pitch of the game 427 feet and over the wall in center for an early lead.
