You see, I will categorically tell you that many things went wrong before the election; things went wrong during the campaigns and things went wrong after winning the election. What went wrong before during and after the election are still haunting the party up till now. Before the election, the primaries of the party were like begging people. Just before the primaries, Dr. Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President left the APC and the party became empty. Those remaining were few. The exit of Dr. Saraki created a big vacuum.
TODAY February 5, 2021 A group of eminent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara has rejected the Membership Registration Committee sent to the state by the National Secretariat of the party. The leaders, operating under the aegis of APC Integrity Group, declared that the seven-member committee headed by Sen. John Damboyi is unfit for the registration exercise because of its bias. They spoke on Friday in Ilorin at a media briefing on Wednesday’s violence that disrupted an APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Banquet Hall in Ilorin. The Chairman of the group and Wakili Lafiaji, Umaru Shaaba, who addressed newsmen, said his members were concerned and embarrassed by the festering crisis in the party.

The party membership registration exercise is billed to start next Tuesday. They threatened to distrupt the membership registration exercise of the party in the state if the national working committee of the party refused to address the undercurrent issues in the state chapter of the party. The protesters were mainly from three of the four tendencies that make up the party in the state. They are Chief Iyiola Oyedepo, Infromation Minister Lai Mohammed and Minister of State(Transporation) Gbemisola Rukayah Saraki.

Kwara APC crisis deepens with removal of party chairman The crisis in Kwara APC has pitted Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq against the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed. The crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State reached its climax last week with the removal of Bashir Bolarinwa as the caretaker chairman of the party in the state. The protracted crisis has broken the party into two factions and pitted Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq against the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, in a struggle for the control of the party. Mr Bolarinwa, who is loyal to the minister, was removed by the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni-led national caretaker committee of the party last Tuesday and replaced with Abdullahi Samari.

The crisis of confidence among the three leaders has led to a split of the party into two factions in the state, with one faction backing the governor while the other faction is supporting Mohammed and Saraki. The apparent misunderstanding between the three leaders came to a peak when the Mala Buni-led caretaker committee of the party removed the state Chairman, Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa, and replaced him with his deputy, Alhaji Samari Abdullahi.
Share The All Progressives Congress Caretaker/ Extra Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (APC CECPC) met with aggrieved camps in the Kwara State chapter of the party on Monday. Kwara State governor, Abdul Rahman Abdulrasaq, led his supporters to the party national secretariat. Also in attendance were his Niger State counterpart, Sani Bello and the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, who led the aggrieved chieftains to the peace meeting. Minister of State, Transportation, Senator Gbemi Saraki was not at the peace meeting. The Kwara State chapter of the party has been polarised into factions following the removal of the erstwhile acting chairman, Honourable Bashir Bolarinwa by the APC North Central zonal executive. Bolarinwa had since been replaced with his former deputy, Honourable Samari Abdulllahi.
