The department responded to a letter written by the DA to the Gauteng Legislature, in which it flagged at least 14 healthcare facilities with claims patients and staff were dangerously exposed to asbestos.
Among the health facilities affected are Chris Hani Baragwanath, Tembisa and George Mukhari hospitals.
