Evacuation levels downgraded for Jack Fire

Evacuation levels downgraded for Jack Fire Containment is now at 50%. Posted: Jul 19, 2021 4:55 PM Updated: Jul 19, 2021 5:47 PM Posted By: KEZI Staff 11 Images DRY CREEK, Ore. – Evacuation levels have been downgraded for the Jack Fire, meaning only a Level 1 order -- the lowest of the three -- remains in place. The Dry Creek community and surrounding areas are no longer under the higher Level 2 Be Set order. All areas previously under a Level 1 are no longer under an official notice. Containment has surged to 50% as crews work to line the fire, which has burned nearly 18,000 acres.

(The Center Square) – Oregon's Bootleg Fire, now the largest fire in the nation, is inching closer to a Californian forest critical to its climate-centric cap and trade program. The 212,000-acre fire is burning in Fremont-Winema National Forest, placing 100 homes in Klamath County under evacuation orders since it was first reported on July 6. The 247,000-acre fire has grown at a rapid pace since it was reported on July 6. Credit Inciweb The Jack Fire burning on the Umpqua National Forest east of Glide is now 35% contained. As of Sunday afternoon, the fire had spread across 16,674 acres of land. Along the northern edge of the fire, north of HWY 138, crews have been increasing the depth along fire lines. South of HWY 138, burnout operations are being used to build lines that will contain the fire and stop the southern spread.
