LUDHIANA: Continuing with its drive under the Red Rose Operation, the excise department along with the Ludhiana police unearthed an illegal and fake liquor racket operating from the premises of Gemco Exports situated at GT Road, Jugiana.
In the operation led by assistant commissioner, excise, Rajesh Aery and ACP (headquarters), Ludhiana, Jang Bahadur Sharma, one person has been arrested and efforts were being made to nab the other accused, who are suspected to be involved in similar offences in the past too.
A spokesperson of the excise department said 570 cases of illegal and fake liquor with labels of Cash Whisky and Royal Tiger (without manufacturing unit’s name) and some unlabelled spirits were stored on the premises. The entire haul was without holograms and there were some empty cardboard boxes too.
