The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is performing a special concert for Mothers’ Day on Sunday at 3 p.m. in honour of Randi Nelson, who was the the orchestra’s principal flute for nearly five decades before passing away from cancer in July of last year. The concert will feature the premiere of a new work by Saskatoon composer Kendra Harder written for Mistral 5, the SSO’s wind quartet. Tickets for the livestream can be purchased for $20 at saskatoonsymphony.org. ....

Under public health orders, private indoor gatherings are limited to a maximum of 10 people and those people should be from no more than two additional households. Just because getting 10 people together is allowed doesn’t mean you should the Saskatchewan government is imploring people to limit interactions by hosting virtual gatherings using platforms like Zoom or Facetime and to only have in-person gatherings with people from the same household. ....
