JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay baseball team took two games from Watford City over the weekend as they defeated the Wolves 13-2 and 16-2. It took until the late stages of game one for the bats to fully break out for Jamestown as the Jays scored 11 of their 13 runs in the final three innings of the first game. Jackson Walters went 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs driven in, and Ty Monson brought in a run with a double. Max Fronk finished game one 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Jakob Schempp earned the victory on the hill for Jamestown, his second win of the season.
DICKINSON, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays traveled to Dickinson on Tuesday night and lost both of its conference games against the Midgets 13-1 and 12-5. The lone run scored by the Blue Jays in game one came in the fifth inning with Jamestown trailing 13-0. Max Fronk finished the day 1-for-1, recording the only hit off of Dickinson during game one. Carson Orr was handed the loss on the mound for Jamestown, dropping his overall record to 0-1 on the season. Jamestown started game two out on the right foot, scoring two runs in the top of the first before Dickinson added three runs in the bottom of the inning. The Midgets would score eight of their 12 runs in the first three innings of the game, and Jamestown would get it back to 8-4 before Dickinson pulled ahead for good.
JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay baseball season kicked off on Thursday night and sophomore Ethan Gall sparked a three-run fourth inning to lead the Jays past Bismarck High 5-3 in the opening game. Gall doubled off the wall with two outs in the fourth inning for the first hit of the game for Jamestown. The Jays were trailing 3-1 before Mason Lunzman singled to continue the frame. Junior Connor Hoyt laced a ball into right field for a double to score Gall and Lunzman. Hoyt would score on the next at-bat when senior Jacoby Nold put the Jays up for good with an RBI single.
