KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of severe weather with continuous heavy rains expected in Sabah west coast from tomorrow until Tuesday.
MetMalaysia in a statement at 11.30 am also issued a weather alert warning with heavy rains expected in several areas in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, until tomorrow.

The areas that will be affected are Sandakan (Kinabatangan) in Sabah, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi), Limbang in Sarawak and Labuan.
Similar weather conditions are expected from tomorrow to Tuesday in Pendalaman (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Keningau and Tambunan), Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat in Sabah. ....

Floods affect Penampang Police HQ operations

PENAMPANG: Continuous rain since yesterday has caused several areas here to be inundated.
Also hit was the Penampang District Police Headquarters (IPD), which affected some of its operations.
Penamapng district police chief DSP Mohd Haris Ibrahim said despite the situation, its personnel continued to carry out flood monitoring operations, including traffic control in the affected areas.
“Most main roads around Penampang are inundated and road users are advised to be vigilant and adhere to directives from the authorities,” he told Bernama when contacted today.
He said the public could contact the district disaster operations room at 088-726054 for enquiries on the flood situation and affected areas. ....

Kota Kinabalu: The continuous rains since yesterday is causing anxiety among residents living in Sabah west coast especially those in this district, as they fear the flood situation will worsen.
As of 10am today it is still raining in several districts in Sabah including in Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Sepanggar and Tuaran.
A Kampung Babah Penampang resident, Piju Ladatang, in his 50s said, his house compound was inundated from 5 pm yesterday following continuous rains since morning.

He said when the water started to enter his house up to the knee level, he with the help of family members were forced to raise all electrical appliances and important documents to higher and safer spots. ....

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 1,765 people from 567 families in four districts are now housed at 10 temporary relief centres (PPS) following floods due to heavy rains since Sunday.
The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, in a statement, said 976 victims from 300 families in Kudat took refuge at three PPS which were opened Monday, as of Tuesday at 4pm.
The PPS were at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tun Dato Hj Mustapha (90 people from 14 families), Rest House Lama Karakit (15 people from three families) and SK Sikuati (871 people from 283 families). ....
