Man dies after falling off paddleboard near Nags Head Fishing Pier

The 67-year-old Kitty Hawk resident was on the paddleboard about 75 to 100 yards off the beach Saturday evening, fell off and didn’t resurface, according to a Nags Head spokesperson.

67-year-old paddleboarder dies in Nags Head

James Tappero, was about 75 yards off the beach when a bystander saw him fall off his board. A Good Samaritan called 911, but medics couldn't save his life.
