Anti-CAA Protests: Delhi High Court Refuses To Grant Interim The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued notices to the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and Delhi Police over alleged atrocities against Jamia Millia Islamia University students during their protest against the 'divisive' Citizenship Amendment Act.
“There was no firing, there have been no casualties in the Jamia violence. The crime branch will investigate the violence. Thorough investigation will be done and accountability will be fixed,†he said at a press conference.
Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Wednesday questioned PM Modi over his recent statement wherein the Prime Minister had asked the grand old party to publicly declare that they are prepared to accord Indian citizenship to all Pakistanis. Taking to Twitter, Chidambaram wrote: “Why should we give citizenship to people who are already citizens of Pakistan? What is the meaning of such challenges to the Opposition (sic)?â€
