Tipp FM Text 083 311 3311 Photo credit - Jamie O Flaherty A man has been arrested in relation to the discovery of €1,400 euro worth of suspected drugs in Clonmel. The man in his 30s was detained by Gardaí during a routine patrol in the town yesterday for the purpose of a drug search and was then brought to Clonmel Garda Station for a further search. In his sock, Gardaí discovered €600 of crack cocaine, €600 of cocaine and €200 of amphetamine. He is being detained at Clonmel Garda Station and is due to appear in court this morning. TAGS ....

Tipp FM Text 083 311 3311 Six men have been arrested following a violent disorder in Clonmel earlier this month. The incident occurred on the Waterford Road in the town at 11am on March 5th last when 8 or 9 men arrived to a business premises at Laganore and the occupants produced weapons in a short violent dispute. This morning Gardaí from the Clonmel District, assisted by members from across Tipperary Division and the Armed Support Unit, conducted a number of searches in the Clonmel area following on from investigations into that violent disorder. Six people, aged from their mid-teens to 40s, have been arrested in relation to the incident. ....

The victim, a man in his mid 30s, suffered head wounds after being assaulted by a man with a weapon at around 5am on Sunday morning in the Ard Mhuire area of the town. He is continuing to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries at University Hospital Waterford. A man in his mid 20s, arrested following the incident, has since been charged to appear in Clonmel District Court this afternoon.
