The judge in the Nafiz Modack murder and racketeering trial says the accused should have lawyers either privately appointed or through Legal Aid by the next appearance, and that a trial date will be set even if they do not have representation.
The case against Nafiz Modack and his co-accused might finally be moved to the Western Cape High Court for trial preparations on Friday.

Nafiz Modack's return to the Cape Town Regional Court drew a large crowd, watching the spectacle of the transporting of a man the State alleges heads a large criminal enterprise. Modack denies all the charges against him.
"The National Commissioner and his office have at all material times cooperated with the IPID investigation and implemented the recommendations made by IPID arising from the outcome of the investigation," police spokesperson Brigadier Vish Naidoo says.
