Health officer Rebecca Burns received a three-year contract beginning Jan. 1 with a salary starting at $100,000 a year.
During its monthly meeting Oct. 18, St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners honored employees whose longevity spanned 10, 15, 20 and 25 years.
Each recipient will enter into an agreement with the county to ensure funds are spent according to county and federal regulations.
