Vaccination resumes after Eid holidays

Rawalpindi : The District Health Authority in Rawalpindi on Saturday restarted its vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus at 24 vaccination centres of the district after the Eid holidays.
District Health Coordinator for Coronavirus management Dr Jawad Zahid told APP that around 5,000 vaccine doses were administered to the people on May 15, raising the total district tally of coronavirus vaccination to 179,084. He said that 19,200 health workers while 159,884 people including senior citizens have been administered the vaccine so far.
Sharing details, of the COVID-19 situation in the district, he informed that only 16 more positive cases were reported during the last 24 hours, raising the tally of confirmed cases to 25,155 in the district while 23,256 patients were discharged after recovery.

The federal capital has registered a gradual decline in new cases of the novel coronavirus. District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Zaeem Zia stated on Tuesday that 283 cases were reported in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) in a span of 24 hours, lowest in last 10 days.
The rate of positive cases in the city has been recorded at 7.87 per cent in a span of 24 hours. In the said time,3,596 tests were conducted in Islamabad while two patients died in the city on Tuesday, the health official said.

Rawalpindi : Since Rawalpindi Health Authority has launched its COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 10, around 73,583 people have been vaccinated in the district, District Health Coordinator for Coronavirus vaccination Dr Jawad Zahid said here Friday.
Talking to APP, he informed that 14,311 health workers including 59,272 people with senior citizens have received free of cost shots at 24 government vaccination centres of the district.
Dr Jawad said that the district health authority has registered a total of 22,871 positive cases to date out of which 21,092 belonged to Rawalpindi and 1779 to others district.
He added that 19,937 patients having positive results were discharged after recovery while 4,256 including 2,365 were quarantined at homes and 1,891 in isolation.
