Town boss Mick McCarthy felt his side deserved their 2-1 victory at Wigan despite the home side’s late fightback.

Jay Tabb has spoken of his flourishing partnership with man-of-the-moment Tyrone Mings, who has played a key role in Town’s recent progress.

Goals from Luke Hyam and Conor Sammon saw the Blues to a 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic, their first ever win at the DW Stadium. Hyam turned home the opener on 20 and Sammon netted against his old club in the 63rd minute, before Martyn Waghorn set up a nervy finish for Blues supporters when he pulled one back with eight minutes remaining.

Jay Tabb has sung the praises of young midfielder Teddy Bishop, who has made a huge impression since breaking into the side at Derby at the end of last month.

Daryl Murphy and Aaron Cresswell netted second-half goals as the Blues came behind to beat Yeovil 2-1 at Portman Road. Winger Joel Grant, a player who held talks with Town in the summer, put the visitors ahead with a stunning strike from the edge of the box two minutes before the break, but Murphy scraped home from close range on 53 and Cresswell added the second seven minutes later.
