PROVIDENCE  White Electric, the eclectic coffee shop and cafe that has been a neighborhood institution for 20 years is under new ownership. It's now a worker-owned cooperative, having been purchased by staff members, said Chloe Chassaing. The new owners posted the news on Instagram on Monday with a joyful photo. "It was like asking for a horse for Christmas," she said. "We didn’t believe it could  happen." They hope to reopen White Electric in early May, pending necessary licenses.
