Beliefs, sacredness and the afterlife are the subject matters of The Sacred Now , which is running at Joyman Gallery until Feb 14.
Representing the new generation, three artists Jennarong Kaemadan, Kespada Moonsuwan and Pathomkorn Threethep present their perspectives and interpretations of matters that we still ponder today.
Jennarong reflects the idea of beauty between the imaginary world and the real world through nine drawings and paintings of human and mythical animal figures in the Himmapan series.
His works question why there is only one stereotype of beauty for people to stick to while we are born with different physical appearances and have different lifestyles and experiences. And this is why the simple life of the lower classes is always ignored.
