The Little Rock School Board's 9-0 decision Thursday means elementary students will start earlier and end later while middle and high school students' day will end later, officials said.
Elementary school children in the Little Rock School District will start the school day earlier and end it later in the coming 2023-24 school year, the Little Rock School Board decided Thursday.
Thursday's decision by the Little Rock School Board means that middle school and high school days will run an additional 15 minutes, ending at 4 p.m. instead of 3:45 p.m. daily. That will give school buses enough time to complete their runs for elementary school students, whose days will start 10 minutes earlier and end 20 minutes later.
