New Delhi: The first Oxygen Express train for Delhi carrying around 70 tonnes of the life-saving gas will depart from Jindal Steel Works plant in Raigarh on Sunday night, Chairman Railway Board Suneet Sharma said.
The train, with four tankers, will reach Delhi by Monday night, he said.
The railways has chalked out plans to transport medical oxygen from Angul, Kalingnagar, Rourkela and Raigarh to Delhi and NCR region, Sharma said, adding the Delhi government has been advised to get road tankers ready to obtain the oxygen.

An ‘oxygen express’ carrying about 70 tonnes of medical oxygen is expected to reach Delhi by Monday night, the Indian Railways said on Sunday.
The train -- which is the first such service for the national capital facing severe shortage of medical oxygen, will depart from Jindal Steel Works plant in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, on Sunday night.
“We will move about four tankers of liquid medical oxygen from the Jindal plant in Raigarh...the tankers are getting loaded there. We have already provided our wagons which are ready, and as soon as the tankers are loaded, they will be moved tonight,” Railway Board Chairman and CEO Suneet Sharma said in a press conference.

New Delhi [India], April 25 (ANI): Amid the critical shortage of oxygen in Delhi hospitals due to the COVID crisis, Indian Railways has provided some respite as Oxygen Express carrying 70 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) is likely to reach the national capital by Monday, said Railways official.

As many as 150 identified beneficiaries were at the second dry run for the COVID-19 vaccination, conducted at six sites across Kalaburagi district on Friday.
The sites were Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital, MRMC Medical College, Primary Health Centre at Shivaji Nagar, Sedam taluk hospital, Ratkal Primary Health Centre, and Chitapur Community Health Centre and 25 health workers participated.
The District Health and Family Welfare have registered details of 17,400 beneficiaries’ for the first phase.
In Ballari, the dry run was conducted at eight sites including Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), District Hospital, Siraguppa taluk Hospital, Sanjeevini Hospital at Jindal Steel Works, and TMAE Ayurvedic Medical College at Hospet, and three primary health centres - Moka, Miler Pet, Chellagurki.
