National Guard now working in 13 Ohio prisons due to jump in COVID-19
The Ohio National Guard is now working in 13 state prisons after a jump in positive COVID-19 among staff members over the past month. Through Thursday, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction reported 3,021 staff members had tested positive for COVID-19 to date, with 624 still positive and 2,390 who had recovered from the disease. That compares to 1,544 positive tests as of Nov. 1, 1,323 of whom had recovered. A total of seven prison employees have COVID-19-related deaths this year.
