State Correctional Institute/Dallas is experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak with 769 active cases among inmates and 52 cases among employees, state Department of Corrections Press Secretary Maria Bivens said. The department’s COVID-19 dashboard, however, contradicts the data provided by Bivens. According to the dashboard, SCI/Dallas has 1,463 active positive cases among inmates and seven among staff.
