The five councilors present for the special meeting voted unanimously to hire former city of Boulder attorney Kathy Haddock as special prosecutor.
Loveland City Council voted on Friday to hire a special prosecutor to take on a case involving four Loveland City councilors accused of violating the charter guidelines on open meetings.
Saying “public policy should not be decided behind closed doors,” attorney Christopher Gregory told Loveland City Council on Tuesday that there is sufficient evidence to support a misdemeanor criminal prosecution of four current and three former members for violations of state open meeting law.
A lawsuit filed by Loveland resident Bill Jensen aimed at overturning City Council's Centerra South decision has been dismissed by a district judge.
