At just 17, Gomez already has a full season of professional soccer on his resume, even if that season was influenced heavily by the coronavirus pandemic. He's already represented both the U.S. and Mexico at youth level, and he already has a host of European clubs monitoring his progress ahead of his 18th birthday, when he would be allowed to sign abroad. So far, the young fullback has trained with FC Midtjylland, Freiburg, Sporting CP, Werder Bremen and Porto, where his older brother Johan currently plays.
