Derval Vaughan said farewell to pupils and colleagues at Convent Primary School Kanturk just before the Christmas holidays after 19 years at the helm as principal. Derval was described as 'a true leader and a great teacher' by Board of Management Chairperson Anne Maria Bourke who said she was speaking on behalf of current and former board members. "Nothing could actually repay you for what you've done here, what stands out for me is your passion, attention to detail and the selfless hard work you have done for everybody, including your commitment to the children and staff," Anne Maria said. "While I am very sad to see you go, I wish you the very best going forward" she added.
