The women’s wing of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, on Monday, raised the alarm over unremitting bandit attacks in the region, leading to residents being killed and kidnapped.
The development was made known by the Women’s Wing of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union in a statement.
On Saturday, 7th October 2023, in Chikuri village, in Chikun LGA, bandit entered Maikudi farms where villagers were working on portions of the farm that they rented from the owner. Bandits attacked the farm and kidnapped 14 women and a boy. Among the women are 54-year-old Mrs Lydia Dogara and her 20-year-old daughter, Linda Dogara.

No fewer than 27 women and four boys were alleged to have been abducted in southern Kaduna. The women’s wing of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, who stated this on Monday in a statement, urged the authorities concerned to do something to rescue the abductees unhurt. The National Women Coordinator, SOPAPU, Mrs Jemutu Katarma, said the incident occurred on October 2, 2023, noting that the abductees were still in the hands of the kidnappers.
