#AppreciationMonday: 100 trees planted in Newlands East in honour of World Food Day
In honour of World Food Day, 100 trees were planted in Newlands East as part of a programme that aims to eradicate world hunger. Food & Trees for Africa and Konica Minolta South Africa sponsored trees, some of which were nectarine, plum and pear to the Agro-Ecology Hub in Newlands East. The project aims to encourage community members to become small-scale farmers and thereby encouraging self-sufficiency.
