The Charlotte Pride Band (CPB), under the artistic direction of John Stanley Ross, presents “Spring Fling 2022, World Premiere”. This special concert features the world premiere of an exciting work, “A Place We Call Home”, by Terrell Cordice. CPB commissioned the piece in 2019. Additionally, the event has not one, but two guest soloists! Sam Sparrow, clarinetist with the Charlotte Symphony, will perform “Solo de Concours” with CPB. The Charlotte Pride Band under the artistic direction of John Stanley Ross presents "A Celebration of Diversity." Mr. Ross is director of bands at Appalachian State University. The concert is Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 4pm in Charlotte's Park Road Church, 3900 Park Rd. Guest soloist is Victor Wang, principal flutist of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. The band will perform music by a diverse array of composers including Kevin Day, Carolyn Bremer, Aaron Copland, Jennifer Higdon, Clare Grundman and Cecile Chaminade.
