Vietnam’s government plans to double its installed power generation capacity to 146 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, according to press reports.

The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines has published its offshore wind roadmap setting out plans for reaching up to 21 gigawatts (GW) offshore wind by 2040.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has submitted to the country’s prime minister a transitional mechanism for onshore wind and solar projects which missed the feed-in tariff (FiT) application deadline.

The Philippines’ Public Service Act (PSA) has become law after the country’s president Rodrigo Duterte signed it in March. The PSA allows up to 100% foreign ownership of public services in the country.

Vietnam will need international concessional capital support if it is to ensure energy security and reach its net zero emissions target by 2050, its industry and trade minister, Nguyen Hong Dien, has said.
