His mother Contessa Culbreath, explained to Good Morning America that Lamere has a birth defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which inhibits blood flow through the heart and causes an underdevelopment of left side. Now seven years old, doctors say that Lamere is in need of a new heart. "It can be today, next year, next week or next month," Culbreath told GMA. "Lamere has been excited since he found out he's going to get a new heart. Me as his mom, I cry, I'm upset. He said, 'Mom, I'm going to get a new heart so I can play football.'"

Abilene ISD Redeemed After Changing Racist School Names   ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Independent School District voted to rename three elementary schools after the names of the schools were deemed racist by social justice groups. According to KTXS, on Jan. 14, the AISD School Board voted 6-1 on three different items renaming campuses named after confederate generals. The four schools named after the rebels were Robert E.
