No fewer than 19 survivors of human trafficking have been rescued by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP), Kano zonal command.
NAPTIP intercept 19 Nigerians being trafficked to Libya for commercial sex and sexual exploitation in Kano.
The victims, aged between 9 and 28 years, were recruited from Kogi, Delta, Kwara, Oyo, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun and Osun states.
The rescue operation was conducted by officers and men of the Joint Border Task Force (JBTF) in collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service in Katsina.
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), says it has rescued 52 victims and arrested four suspected human traffickers in Kano Zone, from April 30 to May 10, 2021. The NAPTIP Director General, Mrs Imaan Sulaiman- Ibrahim, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on Monday in Kano.
