Speaker emerita and democratic congresswoman from california, nancy pelosi. Speaker pelosi, thank you so much for joining us. We appreciate it. So i have to say this was this may have been the highest stakes speech of President Bidens long career in politics. It may have been the highest stakes state of the Union Address that ive ever seen. I think he met the moment. Oh, i think he did definitely. Actually, i should quote him and just say, maybe i should go home right now because i think what he did was spectacular. He did it with vigor. He did it with vision, with patriotism. And i think it was one of the finest state of the Union Addresses i have seen. And ive seen many. So obviously a lot of republicans are critical of it. One of the things that theyre criticizing it for is for being political. And it was a very political state of the Union Address. Well, it had some political aspects to it, mostly generated by the audience saying four more years, but the perhaps amnesia has set in
their neighbors, including taiwan, including ukraine. countries that are important to both our allies and to the strategic importance of the areas in which they are. what we have asked for is don t be obama. you have to recall that when ukraine was invaded, obama sent he came to the house floor, joint sessions of congress, and begged for her lethal weapons to be able to defend his own country against russia. that is what we have said make certain we give them what they need. intelligence, weapons. tucker: why would we take hold on. why would you take ukraine side and not russia side? if you are looking for the american perspective. why? who s got the energy reserves? has the potential counterbalance against china? i m totally confused.
more. everyone loves the country. that s an outrageous thing to say. in terms of african-american unemployment. there s a history where donald trump is now taking credit for the work of barack obama, this trajectory that we saw and doing it in way that people perceive as divisive or way to turn one against the other and a way to take credit for improving conditions. i want to play obama gave eight state of the union addresses before joint sessions of congress. i m sorry eight addresses. the first one never counts. seven state of the unions. the republicans really never stood when he made certain points. i want to show everybody my point and ask if we hear is different than what we saw with democrats in president trump. here it is. the reforms i m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegal. you lie!
into the white house quite a bit. and it was one of those things. that s why sloppy steve is now looking for a job. everybody tells me i m not under investigation. maybe hillary is. i don t know. but i m not. but there s been no collusion. there s been no crime. we need more republicans so we can really get the rest of the make america great again agenda passed. so i will actually be working for incumbents and anybody else that has my kind of thinking. president trump tackling an array of topic during hi trip to camp david. january kicks off a busy month for the commander-in-chief. on friday, president trump will undergo his first presidential physical exam. it ll be released publicly after it is conducted. they must pass a bill to fund the government or risk partial shut down at the end of the month. there will be joint sessions of congress.
successful joint sessions of congress. there s more that will be done with the saga to jeff sessions. ryan nobles, we appreciate it so much. thank you. let s continue the conversation with cnn politics reporter, eric bradner, and cnn legal analyst, danny saw sraulious. our sources are saying trump is frustrated and the white house is on edge, so how can they reset the narrative this week when you have got the whole talk of russia coming back again with sessions, obviously going to give more explanation as to what his connections were? how do they reset their narrative? it s going to be difficult.
